In this 3-part mini series, we will look at developing a barbed wire game asset completely from scratch. We will start the series in Substance Designer, taking a look at creating unique and somewhat intricate shapes using default nodes, and close out the material to use PBR texture maps. Finally, we will take all of that into Blender and using a non-destructive, modifier-heavy approach create a game-ready barbed wire game asset.
